Polecam and Jimmy Jib Owner / Operator - John Gillan With over 25 years broadcast experience as a jib operator and cameraman, John has been credited with a Technical Emmy for his Polecam work and is recognized as one of the most experienced Polecam jib operators in the world. He also is a dab hand with his 30ft Jimmy Jib too. Latest News: John's been working non-stop recently on programmes for the UK channel 'Sky 3D' and also for Discovery's '3Net' channel in the US. Using a twin camera set-up on his Polecam he has been traveling between the USA, Europe and South America shooting some magnificent locations and subjects. "Shooting on Polecam has made it possible for these types of 3D shoots to happen and be economical too. It would simply not have been possible to get a 20ft jib in some of the locations we've been to. Its been a perfect tool.'' says John. JG Broadcast Jibs can also offer the class leading 'Nano 3D' flash HiDef recorder, now capable of 3D record and playback. With bases in London and Los Angeles, John travels between both cities way too much but manages to keep his sanity and build up those delightful air miles to still shoot creatively for regular clients such as the BBC, ITV and ESPN with his 2 Polecam rigs and Jimmy Jibs. |
